The one tool that will help you unlock and unleash your true potential

Wouldn’t it be nice to know what direction we are going in our lives at all times? Let me tell you that YOU ARE NOT ALONE when it comes to working out where to go next and which direction to go.

What if I told you that knowing WHO YOU ARE and knowing WHERE TO GO can start with ONE simple tool I have personally used and helped:

✨ Know WHO I AM at a deep level

✨ Accept where I am at in my life right now

✨ Figure out where I want to be based on what lights me up and who I am

Now, my journey is UNIQUE and so is YOURS, BUT one thing that I know is that self-actualisation can help you too!

BUT FIRST THING FIRST. WHAT THE HECK IS SELF-ACTUALISATION?

According to Simple Psychology, self-actualisation is the complete realization and full development of one's abilities. It’s not just about being happy or fulfilled but also doing something with their lives-pursued by most people who are pursuing this concept in our society today as they seek out what it means for them personally – seeking out how best can move up into higher levels on The Social ladder (based on human needs hierarchy).

These are just a few examples of people who were deemed to have achieved self-actualisation, or identification with one's true identity.

  • Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865; American President)

  • Albert Einstein (1879- 1955; Theoretical Physicist)

  • Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965; Writer, Humanitarian, Theologian, Organist, Philosopher, and Physician)

  • Aldous Huxley (1894- 1963; Philosopher and Writer)

  • Baruch Spinoza (1632- 1677; Philosopher)

  • Eleanor Roosevelt (1884-1962; Diplomat and Activist)

  • Jane Addams (1860-1935; Settlement Activist, Sociologist, Public Administrator)

  • Thomas Jefferson (1743- 1826)

According to Maslow's theory, these individuals had attained his ultimate level during which he felt they could be content and happy as themselves without needing anything else outside one self for complete fulfilment.

But what about the regular people, like you and me? Can we be self-actualised? Where do we start?

We start with FORGIVENESS as the first step

me tell ya this: being forgiving will lead to more places than just down a rabbit hole of negative emotions--it could open up whole new worlds full with positivity instead.

The second step to developing self-confidence is knowing yourself. What do I mean by that?

If you were asked, what are some things which make up your personality or values in life and how can they help improve areas where there may be room for improvement such as ____(fill)? In this episode, I mention a great list of resources that will help you get to know yourself, like really intimately. The guide includes information on each of the different self-actualisation resources and reports I have used myself. Do yourself a favour and grab the guide here.

It's important not only to recognize who we are but also our achievements and take time everyday just thinking about all the good stuff we've done already so when something goes wrong instead of getting frustrated with ourselves because remember: everything takes effort!

Remember too that being aware and honest about our weaknesses also helps with self-actualisation and personal growth!

The third thing is, self actualised people know that life is full of lessons, and they are grateful for every single one.  They don't have a victim mentality- instead, their sense of gratitude lifts them up to new heights!

Life will always throw curveballs and sometimes we need to take a step back in order for things like happiness, success or love find their way into our lives.

Fourth, you need to remember that knowing yourself and forgiving yourself is not something that will happen overnight. It's more of a journey where each day we get closer towards self-actualisation so it should be enjoyed along the way rather than being impatient for results or trying too hard in order achieve this goal

The key point here: if your life isn't going as planned then don’t lose hope. Self-actualisation takes time and bravery. You might find yourself with emotions or feelings that you never wanted but it's necessary for growth because, without this discomfort, there would be no light at the end of your tunnel!

When life gets tough, the best thing you can do is to give self-actualisation a go. This process and mindset will help get rid of your struggles by making sure that they are not due solely or mainly because of personal limitations such as lack of motivation/inspiration - which would make any journey worth taking!

In this episode I talk about:

💡What is self-actualisation?

💡How can you achieve self-actualisation?

💡How to overcome struggles on your growth and self-actualization journey.

💡My fav self-actualisation tools and resources you can use to know forgive and accept yourself the way YOU ARE.

I hope this blog and episode has helped you see that self-actualisation is a beautiful step on the road to growth.
